What is Covid-19?
Covid-19, or Coronavirus, is a virus that causes respiratory infections. Symptoms can range from the common cold to severe pneumonia, and the virus is transmitted from person to person through droplets, e.g. via coughing or sneezing, via surfaces and through contact transmission (handshakes, via objects, handles, etc.)
On the Danish Health Authority's website you can read and follow the development of Covid-19 www.SST.dk
How should the workplace and office be cleaned?
There are general guidelines that the Danish Health Authority recommends following when discussing office cleaning in relation to Covid-19 and other viruses.
- Clean once a day during the days the office is in use. In fact, you don't need disinfectant everywhere, but soap and water is sufficient.
- Clean contact points where there is a high frequency of touch (especially by hands) Door handles, buttons including keyboards, faucet handles, copier, coffee machine controls, electrical outlets, etc.
- You have to clean in a certain order every time. First the kitchen, then the office and finally the restroom facilities
- Provide easy access to hand sanitizer and sinks.
What can you do yourself?
You can help prevent the spread of infection in the office by following the guidelines from the Danish Health Authority.
- Always start the day with good hand hygiene, which means washing or sanitizing your hands
- Keep your hands clean and feel free to sanitize your mouse and keyboard yourself. If you move away from your workstation, make sure you sanitize or wash your hands when you sit down again.
- Keep your hands clean when using shared equipment in the office
- Make sure your desk is tidy when you leave your workplace, this will help the cleaning staff to clean your desk thoroughly.
We've created a checklist that you can use in your workplace to keep track of all your actions.
